Not Your Parent's Disney

Disney has changed a lot in the last 20 years. When I first started going to Disney World in the late 90s it seemed primarily focused on kids. I get it, you’re at an amusement park with costumed characters running around. To a kid, it truly is the greatest place on Earth. To the parent taking them, it can be the complete opposite. You’re standing in the burning Florida heat barely keeping it together, doing everything your kids want to do. While that is an overall parenting win and may make you mom and dad of the year in their eyes, it can leave a void for the vacationing adults. Disney however, is smart and caught on to this! They have pivoted and created magical environments for everyone! Whether you are a kid, a kid at heart, or adults looking for a couples only vacation, Disney has it!

Adults can find fine dining at the resorts, shopping, great bars with delicious drinks, music and many other activities. There are times my wife and I will opt out of the parks for the day and enjoy what the park resorts have to offer to us. It could be a lazy day at the pool, shopping, horseback riding, playing golf or visiting various lounges at the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, and the Contemporary. We have enjoyed Drink Around the World at Epcot or if you are looking for a night on the town, there is also the Monorail Pub Crawl. One of our absolute favorite things to do is to watch the Electrical

Water Pageant on the beach at Ft. Wilderness which is followed by a great view of Magic Kingdom Fireworks. While this is completely a kid friendly event, it is also a very romantic evening for a couple to enjoy!
